For many people, having a cancer center nearby will mean they won't have to uproot their lives and families to fight their disease.
Being close to home allows patients and loved ones to get the support they need to overcome any challenge. Demonstrating our commitment to education, awareness and prevention, the Cancer Center offers a variety of resources, bringing together cancer survivors and patients for the emotional encouragement that could only come from someone who has traveled the same path.
RESOURCES
Cancer Resource Center SMH knows support plays an important role in recovery. That's why the Cancer Resource Center offers patients an education library, Appearance Center, support groups and other resources needed during recovery.
Patient Navigator A direct and visible benefit to patients will be the creation of a "patient navigator,” or coach, a program to assign a specific person to guide newly diagnosed cancer patients through their treatment.
American Cancer Society SMH is active in many American Cancer Society programs and events including Relay for Life, Making Strides for Breast Cancer and Reach for Recovery.
