Patient Rights and ResponsibilitiesSlidell
Memorial Hospital shall provide access to treatment or accommodations
that are available or medically indicated, regardless of race, age,
religion/spiritual preference, national origin, cultural background,
sex, sexual preferences, physical impairment(s), mental impairment,
diagnosis, the ability to pay or source of payment.
volunteers deliver letters, cards, flowers, gifts and e-mails to
patients throughout the day. If cards, parcels, letters or e-mails
arrive for you after your discharge, they will be forwarded to your home
NewspapersNewspapers can be purchased directly outside of the Florida Avenue entrance to the hospital.
For the Hearing ImpairedA
telecommunications device is available to help the hearing-impaired
patients or patients who want to communicate with a hearing-impaired
relative or friend. Arrangements can also be made by your nurse to have a
person who uses sign language help a hearing-impaired or deaf patient.
Interpreters Your nurse has access to interpreters for a number of foreign languages, should a patient require it.
