MD Imaging, SMH's state-of-the-art outpatient imaging center, is equipped with the most advanced imaging technology, providing you and your doctor with the best diagnostic capabilities. Our center is staffed by specialized physicians and highly-trained staff. All radiologists are Board Certified by the American College of Radiology (ACR).
Offering convenient parking and same-day appointments on most exams, MDI utilizes an advanced Picture Archiving Communications System giving physicians and caregivers remote and simultaneous access to the most clear imaging available to enable better, faster diagnosis and treatment.
Digital Mammography with Image Checker Enhancement©
Far superior to analog film mammography, MDI's direct digital system provides clear, high-resolution images within seconds. The Image Checker Enhancement© is highly specialized, FDA-approved software that highlights image areas for closer review.
Siemens Magnetom Espree 1.5 (Open Bore)
Symphony 1.5 Tesla MRI
These MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) scanners offer faster scan times, greater comfort, and are more powerful than the conventional MRI. The open design of this machine accommodates patients up to 450 pounds, eliminates anxiety and claustrophobia, and assures more accurate diagnoses.
Breast MRI System
Breast MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) noninvasively examines breast tissue to accurately detect abnormalities among women at high risk of breast cancer, recently diagnosed patients and those with dense breast tissue or implants. Breast MRI biopsy procedures are also available. Ask your physician if you are a good candidate.
PET/CT imaging combines Positron Emission Tomography with Computed Tomography and is the most advanced medical imaging technique available. By combining fine structural detail with the ability to detect changes in cell function, specialists are able to detect disease earlier and more accurately and target treatment more precisely. Many PET/CT procedures are covered by both Medicare and private insurance companies.
DEXA (Bone Density)
Because early detection of osteoporosis is critical, the DEXA bone density scan checks for early or advanced signs of the condition to ensure proper care for the best possible outcomes.
Computed Tomography (CT or "CAT” Scan) scanning is a noninvasive medical test combining x-rays and computers that is used to study almost any body organ, blood vessels, the abdominal cavity, bones and the spine.
Safe, simple and highly effective, ultrasound bounces high-frequency sound waves off parts of the body and captures the returning "echoes” as images to assess organs, especially in the abdomen, and screen for vascular disease.
MDI uses electronic files for all X-ray imaging to get patients and their doctors results more quickly, significantly accelerating diagnosis and treatment.
