For the seventh summer, Slidell Memorial Hospital and St. Tammany Fire Protection District 1 will offer a summer day camp that aims to build self esteem and teach nutrition and exercise skills to local children who struggle with their weight.
(Slidell, La.–Feb. 26, 2013)— Slidell Memorial Hospital will be offering a special free annual health event this month for junior and senior high school-age girls on Sat., Mar. 9, from 1-5 p.m. in the SMH Regional Cancer Center, 1120 Robert Blvd.
Learning how to make responsible and healthy choices is a lesson teens must learn to build successful adulthoods. Making those lessons fun and memorable is the motivation behind the annual special fair just for teen girls in the community: A Day for Girls' Health.
In an innovative partnership to help improve the health and lifestyles of the community, Slidell Memorial Hospital will team up with the Slidell Women's Civic Club on a year-long community education and outreach initiative to be known as "Healthy Slidell.”
