10/21/2014SMH Womenís Health Alliance fall seminar focuses on breast cancer awareness
 

Nearly 12 percent of women will develop an invasive breast cancer in their lifetimes, and breast cancer is the second leading cause of death among women in the United States. However, according to the American Cancer Society, breast cancer death rates have been falling in recent years, most likely due to better detection and treatment options that are now available. The Slidell Memorial Hospital Womenís Health Alliance will focus on helping women in the community become more aware of prevention and early detection of breast cancer at the annual WHA Fall Seminar coming Tues., Oct. 28, at the Northshore Harbor Center.
