Pharmacy Residency Program

We give residents an individualized experience to help them gain the knowledge and skills needed to be successful practicing clinicians.

As the only Pharmacy Residency Program on the Northshore, we’re proud to be the training ground for the next generation of pharmacists, as well as for current pharmacists looking to continue their education.

Our residents at Slidell Memorial Hospital enjoy hands-on learning in a variety of experiences and settings. As part of the program, you will actively engage with multidisciplinary team members to understand how to provide safe, effective, evidence-based care.

“The most fulfilling part about my role as a resident here is the impact I’m able to make on patient care. I truly enjoy being able to interact with the patients to help them understand their medication lists. I also enjoy being able to assist other healthcare providers with medication therapies while I’m working in the pharmacy.”

“I have the opportunity to learn from pharmacists from Ochsner Medical Center – Northshore and SMH because of their partnership, and to learn the differences between how the facilities operate. More importantly, I appreciate the welcoming environment at SMH and the relationships the employees have with one another and their patients.”
